History & other Information

This car was part of a very high quality Ferrari collection and has had upwards of $26,000 in mechanical work since 2002. Included among this is the renewal of the engine in 2002 at Steve Harris Imports.

As part of this process, engine number 00738 was supplied and used. The clutch was also renewed and this work was completed approximately 5000 miles ago. The work performed since then has been comparatively minor in nature in the amount of about $4000 and has included electrical fixes, fluids, and rebuild of the rear brake system, including rebuilding the rear calipers, pads, and hoses. New Pirelli tires were fitted all around as well.

Cosmetically, this example is best described as a very straight and solid driver. The car was repainted some years ago in its original color, but shows minor aging and wear in selected areas in the form of crazing and the inevitable chips. Regardless, the car makes a strong impression and is more than presentable. The fiberglass body appears to have never been damaged, with very good panel match at and gaps throughout. The window glass and lenses are in good condition, including the windshield which has virtually no wear. The wheels are in good shape as well.

The interior is in very fine original condition and is as nice as can be expected of a thirty three year old car. The driver’s seat has some wear and one small tear, but is otherwise superbly preserved. The dashboard, instruments, switches, door panels, and headliner are excellent. The carpets are in great shape, with only a small hole near the dead pedal. The steering wheel has light patina that is just right.

The engine compartment and the front compartment are both in fine original shape that is consistent with a low mileage well cared for car that has never been restored. The vinyl zipper covers are in great shape and the zippers work well. The original washer bag is present in the front compartment. The engine compartment is tidy, appears to have been well looked after, and shows evidence of much recent work.

This car drives and operates as it should. The electrical system works well, including the lights, and the AC blows, but not cold. The brakes are effective, stopping the car evenly, and the engine works well with good power. The gearbox works properly, with good synchros.

Comes with service manual on CD, manual, tool roll with tools, spare wheel, and some records.
