History & other Information

S/N 19211 was most recently the subject of an article in Forza Magazine #110, June 2011, titled Plastic Fantastic (see http://www.forza-mag.com/issues/110/articles/plastic-fantastic#.Uclgj7V--Hs)

In brief summary, 19211 came to the US in 1976.  It was purchased by its second owner in 1982, who was responsible for the multiple modifications with an eye toward SCCA competition.  The center lock hubs were fabricated with the help of an automotive engineer who worked for General Motors.  The original engineering drawings for the hubs and suspension pieces remain with the car to this day.

S/N 19211 was sold on in 1995 and again in 2000.  That owner reversed one of the car’s prior modifications, a dual-plate clutch, reinstalling a stock clutch.  That owner noted that the dual-plate clutch was like an “on-off” switch, and made the car unpleasant to drive, especially on the street.  He also had the seats reupholstered in their original color.  S/N 19211 passed to its current owner in August 2012.
